For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a fascination with cars. When I was thirteen, I saw a man whose car was broken down at the grocery store. I stopped to see if I could help. I didn’t really know how to help, but that didn’t matter. I loved cars. As it turned out, he was at the end of his rope with his car. It had been nothing but trouble. So when I offered to buy it for $60, he accepted. I ran home and got my money and my dad. My dad drove him and his groceries home. I was out $60 that I had saved all summer, but I was the owner of a ’57 Chevy at the age of thirteen. I spent the next two years restoring the car.

My hobby soon became my passion. At 15, I got a job at a dealership cleaning cars. I wasn't old enough to drive so my mom used to drive me across the Tacony Palmyra Bridge each day to go to work.

When I got my driver's license, I finally had a chance to show off my fully restored '57 Chevy. In driving it around town, a number of people offered to buy it. That was the first time I learned how my elbow grease and attention to detail could affect resale value. I sold that car after only six months of driving it and started another restoration. That's how it all started.

By seventeen, I was managing twelve employees in the detail shop at the dealership and selling the cars at auction on behalf of the dealer.

In 1992, I started my own business, Buff Me Auto Detailing in a building on Route 38 in Cherry Hill, and I’m still in the same location today. I’m grateful to my longstanding customers who have helped to make that possible.

My customers are as varied as the cars they drive. Some just like driving a clean car and the sense of pride it gives them. Others are car enthusiasts who like to put their trust in someone who has the knowledge and passion to care for their vehicles with kid gloves. And some of my clientele are preparing to sell or trade in their leased vehicles. They need a knowledgeable, honest opinion of what type or level of restoration will bring a real return on their investment.
